Red Hawks Hit The Road Hoping to Notch Third Straight Win

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State field hockey team hits the road for the second time this season as they take on No. 18 Vassar College Wednesday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks notched their first shutout of the season, blanking Rhodes College 3-0 Friday evening. Rookie TORI SUTERA scored twice, while sophomore CARLIE VAN TASSEL added her third tally of the season. Van Tassel has scored a goal in each of the three contests this season.

SCOUTING VASSAR
Vassar comes into the game with a 4-1 record, with their lone setback coming to No. 10 Kean University Saturday. After notching a pair of defensive saves against Lean, sophomore Heidi Compton was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week. The Brewers have picked up wins over Smith College, Marywood University, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Western Connecticut State.

LAST MEETING
On September 18, 2019, Vassar notched a 1-0 victory of the Red Hawks. Grace Amell netted the lone goal of the evening, as Nicole Andriani made eight save in goal. Offensively, ELIZABETH CIMILLUCA and Keeley Winn combined for eight of the teams 11 shots.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 4-6 all-time against the Brewers. Vassar opened the series by winning three of the first four matchups and has also taken three of the last four meetings. Of the 10 games played, eight have been determined by one goal.
