EMMI DENOVELLIS each scored in the second half as Montclair State snapped a halftime tie in a 3-1 victory at Farmingdale State on Tuesday afternoon.
TARA LAMBERT added a goal as the Red Hawks (5-2) won their second straight as they defeated the Rams (4-3) in the first meeting between the two teams since 2009. MSU that meeting, 4-0 in match also played on Long Island.
Montclair found itself in a 1-0 deficit 99 seconds into the match as Meagan Murdocco flipped a pass within 10 yards of the goal to Jazzmin Terrell, who deposited the feed into the lower right-hand corner on the first shot of the contest.
MSU evened the match in the ninth minute on Lambert's first career goal, an unassisted tally. Lambert collected a loose ball from at 15 yards out, knocking in the attempt past Chloe Kensell.

HALEY MARTIN kept the match at 1-1 making a pair of saves in the 23rd minute and denied Terrell with 6:06 to go before halftime. MSU outshot Farmingdale 13-7 in the opening 45 minutes, however, the game remained tied at a goal apiece.
Montclair State took the lead in the 57th minute. Cahill dribbled around a defender before driving a shot into the upper-left corner for her fourth of the season and a 2-1 MSU advantage.
Martin made the last of her four saves a minute later keeping the Red Hawks on top. DeNovellis added an insurance goal, the first of her collegiate career, with 11:33 left, a 10-yard shot after moving by several defenders.
MSU is back in action on Saturday, September 25 jumping back into NJAC play. The Red Hawks (1-0 NJAC) host New Jersey City at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff of the conference contest is set for 1:00 pm.
