Women's Basketball: Game Day Preview vs. Rowan

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State women's basketball team hosts Rowan University in New Jersey Athletic Conference action Wednesday evening.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (6-6, 4-3 NJAC) topped Ramapo College 55-45 in their return to action on Saturday. Guards NICKIE CARTER and JULIA SUTTON combined for 38 points in the non-conference matchup. Fellow guard KENDALL HODGES contributed six points, six rebounds, and five assists, as KELLY SMITH and MEGAN DUFFY matched Hodges with six boards.

SCOUTING THE PROFS
The Profs are 8-5 overall, including a 6-1 mark in the NJAC. They are coming off a 94-61 win over Rutgers-Newark and outrebounded their foes 50-30. Dakota Adams notched a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

LAST MEETING
Rowan claimed the 2019-20 NJAC Championship in their last meeting on February 28, 2020. Montclair led 39-33 at the half, but the Profs outscored MSU 31-15 in the second half. NICKIE CARTER led the Red Hawks with 17 points while Cerys MacLelland tallied a near triple-double of nine points, eight assists, and 13 rebounds.

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 55-34 all-time against Rowan but have dropped the last two meetings. Before the two-game skid, Montclair State had won the previous 11 games and boast a 28-11 record inside the Panzer Athletic Center. Rowan's last victory inside the Panzer Athletic Center came on January 6, 2016, in a 68-64 contest.
