Women's Basketball: Game Day Preview vs. Ramapo

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State women's basketball team visits Ramapo College for a New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday evening.

LAST TIME OUT
On Saturday afternoon, the Red Hawks (9-7, 7-4 NJAC) downed TCNJ 53-39. The Montclair State defense clamped down, surrendering 39 points for the second straight contest, and held the Lions to single-digit points in the first and fourth quarters. In the fourth quarter, OLIVIA VERO had four blocks, with the third one leading to a layup on the other end. NICKIE CARTER had 19 points while JULIA SUTTON added 10.

SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS
On Saturday, the Roadrunners (6-7, 3-6 NJAC) picked up a 59-50 victory over Stockton. They trailed by four at halftime but outscored the Ospreys 41-28 over the final two frames to earn the victory. Jada Thompson scored 21 points and 15 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season.

LAST MEETING
Montclair earned a 55-45 victory over Ramapo in non-conference action on January 8. Montclair outscored Ramapo 32-16 in the first half before the Roadrunners closed to within five after three. TRISHA PETERSON opened the fourth quarter with a three before a late triple from JULIA SUTTON pushed the lead back to double-digits. Sutton finished with 20 points while NICKIE CARTER added 18.

SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 60-10 all-time against Ramapo, including 19 wins in the last 20 games. All 10 of Ramapo's victories have been by 10 points or less, with Montclair averaging 67.4 points per game all-time.
