HOW IT HAPPENED VS. SARAH LAWRENCE
  • The Red Hawks trailed 12-10 in the opening frame before SHELLEY EATON delivered nine consecutive points. Eaton tallied three aces during the run as LEAH HIGGINS pounded home three kills.
  • The Gryphons closed to three at 21-18, but ELIZABETH KILLEEN tallied two kills, including one on set point, to give Montclair the 1-0 edge.

  • Sarah Lawrence got within five, but Montclair was able to pull away. Rookie ADDISON CASTLES notched a pair of kills, and the set was clinched on a service ace from Eaton.
  • Eaton again was the catalyst in the third set, delivering seven consecutive points to turn a two-point lead into a nine-point advantage. The Gryphons handed the match to the Red Hawks thanks to a service on match-point, clinching the 3-0 triumph.
HOW IT HAPPENED VS. DREW

  • The Red Hawks brought up set point thanks to a Higgins kill and a bad set, but the Rangers closed the frame on a 5-1 run to sneak by 27-25.
  • With Montclair leading 5-4 in the second, Drew went on an 8-1 rally to take the lead for good. NADYA ACKERMANIAN brought Montclair to within three on a kill, but the Rangers stretched the lead to double-figures with Jasmine Butler serving.
  • GIANNA ARIAS, Killeen, and Ramsey tallied consecutive kills in the third frame to even the set at eight, but a 6-1 spurt midway through the period tilted the momentum in favor of Drew.
