Field Hockey Falls To No. 11 Williams

Williamstown, Mass. – The Montclair State field hockey team fell to No. 11 Williams College 4-0 in non-conference play Sunday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • LAUREN PICKUL kept the game scoreless in the first quarter, making six saves. The Ephs continued to apply pressure, yet the senior goalkeeper made two more denials in the second quarter. Williams broke through in the 27th minute, as Catherine Torres, off a penalty corner.
  • Williams added a pair of goals in the third quarter, Pickul coming up big to make four additional saves. The hosts capped off the scoring in the 52nd minute as Emily Batchelor netted her second of the afternoon.
  • The Red Hawks' best chance came in the 50th minute, as the Ephs goalkeeper stopped TORI SUTERA.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Pickul made a season-high 14 saves in the setback, surpassing her previous season-best of 10 against DeSales.
  • Sutera registered two shots in the setback, the lone two of the game for Montclair State.
UP NEXT
The Red Hawks resume New Jersey Athletic Conference action Wednesday, visiting William Paterson at 7 pm.
