Field Hockey: Gameday Preview vs. Rowan

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State field hockey team hosts No. 1 Rowan University Saturday afternoon.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks (9-6, 3-1 NJAC) took down William Paterson 4-2 Wednesday evening. CARLIE VAN TASSEL and GAB MAISTO recorded first-half goals, as ALEXA ANTONELLI and KELLY WESTERVELT notched second-half tallies. LINSEY CHAMPA and TORI SUTERA picked up assists, with LAUREN PICKUL making one save.

SCOUTING ROWAN
The Profs, who moved up to No. 1 in the NFHCA ranking this week, suffered their first loss of the season Wednesday night. They fell 3-2 to No. 3 Salisbury, with the Sea Gulls tallying the game-winner with 35 seconds to go.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 17-57-1 all-time against Rowan and has dropped the last four meetings. Montclair State's previous victory came on October 15, 2016, in a 2-0 triumph.

LAST MEETING
The Profs tallied a 6-0 victory in Glassboro on October 1, 2021. LAUREN PICKUL made a career-high saves in the setback.
