Men's Soccer: Gameday Preview vs. CCNY

Montclair, NJ – The No. 10/11 Montclair State men's soccer team hosts CCNY in non-conference action Monday night.

NJAC REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS
The Red Hawks (13-1-4, 8-0-1 NJAC) clinched the NJAC Regular Season with a 4-1 win over William Paterson last Wednesday. AMER LUKOVIC recorded his first collegiate hat trick, while JANBI KAGHADO added a goal. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks topped Kean 1-0 on October 26 to close the NJAC slate. JUSTIN GOLDBERG tallied the lone goal off an assist from OWEN MURPHY in the fourth minute, as BORIS DEL VALLE made one save to earn the clean sheet.

SCOUTING CCNY
The Beavers enter the matchup with a 3-9-1 mark and fell in the CUNYAC Quarterfinals on Saturday. They notched one-goal victories over Medgar Evers (1-0), Brooklyn College (2-1), and York (3-2).
                          
SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 22-1 all-time against CCNY, with CCNY winning their lone game on September 6, 2001. The two sides have met every year since 2010 besides 2020, and MSU has outscored the Beavers 71-2 during that stretch.
 
LAST MEETING
The Red Hawks picked up a 7-0 triumph at MSU Soccer Park on October 25, 2021. Montclair State outshot the Beavers 27-0, with Edwin Melendez netting his first career hat-trick in the win.
 
UP NEXT
The Red Hawks will open the NJAC Tournament on Tuesday, hosting No. 5 Rutgers-Camden at 7 pm at MSU Soccer Park.
