Glassboro, NJ – The No. 10/12 Montclair State women's soccer team suffered their first setback of the season, falling 1-0 to Rowan University Saturday.

Nina Carlson notched the lone goal for Rowan (8-0-2, 4-0-0 NJAC) in the 80th minute.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Montclair State (11-1-0, 3-1-0 NJAC) tallied all six shots in the first half but could not find a goal. ASHLEY DEFRANCESCO had a try off a set piece stopped in the 17th minute before Calista Burke denied KIMBERLY CAMPBELL in the 26th minute.
Rowan put their first shot up in the 52nd minute, but that went wide. Montclair State recorded a trio of corner kicks midway through the stanza, but the Profs defense did not allow a shot off any of the opportunities.
The Profs broke through with 10:56 to go, as Carlson moved around defenders on the left side of the box and fired for her fifth goal of the year.
Montclair State, playing from behind, had two final looks at the equalizer but couldn't get a shot on frame. The last try came with 21 seconds left, as EMMI DENOVELLIS pushed a free-kick wide.
