HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Montclair State blitzed Marywood out of the gate, outscoring the Pacers 14-2 over the first 3:43 of the game. The Red Hawks connected on four three-pointers during the run.
  • The Red Hawks stingy defense held Marywood to just six points over the first 12:02, as the team extended the lead to 23 on a fastbreak jumper by MIKE JACKSON.
  • The Pacers finished the half strongly, ending the period on a 12-5 spurt to trim the halftime deficit to 13.
  • Montclair State shot 51.6% (16-of-31) from the floor, and Marywood shot 37.0 (10-of-27) during the first half.
  • A quick 6-0 spurt early in the second stanza, capped off by a triple from Breeman, pushed the lead back to 18. The two sides went back and forth over the final 20 minutes before a 6-0 run by MSU late in the frame stretched the gap back to 20.
  • The Pacers would tack one final layup late to establish the final 16-point margin.
