JENNA MELUSO drove in five runs on the day as Montclair State opened its home schedule on Wednesday with a sweep of Centenary University.
The Red Hawks won the opener 8-0 before finishing off the day with a 9-2 victory in the nightcap to move to 6-3 on the season. Sophomore

Cavallaro improved to 3-2 on the season as she struck out seven and gave up just two singles.
Montclair would get all the runs it would need in the second inning scoring five times.
DANIELLE DECARLO got the Red Hawks on the board with an RBI single with Meluso added a two-run double for a 3-0 lead. Cosentino followed that up with a single scoring two more giving MSU the five-run cushion.
Meluso and Cosentino each dove in a run in the fourth with a double and single, respectively extending Montclair State's lead to 7-0. Cosentino would finish off her four RBI effort in the sixth with an RBI sible scoring

Meluso and Cosentino were each 3-for-4.
In the second game, the Cyclones took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning however, Montclair took back the lead in the bottom of the inning scoring twice with the aid of two Centenary errors. Cosentino's RBI in the second made the score 3-1 and the Red Hawks tacked on five more in the third. Meluso smacked a two-run double to highlight the inning as MSU widened its lead to 8-1.
DiLaurenzio collected an RBI triple in the fourth for the final MSU run.
Righthander
KAYLA VOLANTE (3-0) got the victory allowing two runs and six hits. She struck out five and walked two.
Montclair State is next scheduled to be in action on Saturday, March 19 with a home doubleheader against Hunter College with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 pm.
