MORGAN CONNON and
KAITLYN ARCEDE each scored three goals as Montclair State picked up its first victory of the season with an 11-4 win at Misericordia University on Saturday afternoon.

ALLYN LILIEN stopped 11 shots for the Red Hawks (1-2) as they held to Cougars to just one goal over the final 23 minutes. Senior Tristen Konen had two goals and an assist with senior
RHIANNON BROWN finding the back of the net twice. Hayley Doran chipped in with a goal and assist.
The Red Hawks trailed 2-1 late in the first quarter before going on a four-goal run that spanned into the second. Konen tied the game with 3:59 to play in the opening period ad gave Montclair a 3-2 lead with 20 seconds to go before the first-quarter horn. Brown opened the scoring in the second with the first of her two goals. Connon scored with 9:32 left increasing MSU's lead to 5-2.
The Cougars (1-2) Alussa Delgadillo got one back for Misericordia, however, it would be its last until the fourth quarter. Doran's goal with 4:44 remaining helped give Montclair a 6-3 lead at halftime. Connon and Arcede widened that lead to 8-3 with the only two goals of the third quarter and the two opened the fourth with scored as MSU led 10-3. Genevieve Montanye snapped the run with 9:34 to go in the fourth, but that was quickly answered by Brown.
Connon added four draws and five ground balls for Montclair State with Doran totaling three draws, three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Konen forced three turnovers and added four ground balls and two draws.
Montclair State is back in action on Wednesday, March 9 at home against Famingdale State.
