Men's Lacrosse Cruises To Senior Day Victory

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State men's lacrosse saw 12 different student-athletes record goals en route to a 29-3 victory over Rosemont College Saturday.
 
The 29 tallies are the second-most scored in a game by the Red Hawks (9-4, 3-1 CSAC), trailing the 35 scored against CCNY in 1979. Mark Porter made nine saves in goal for the Ravens (8-9, 2-3 CSAC).

Montclair held a 2-0 just 1:02 into the game as LIAM HORTON converted a feed from TYLER MCCREERY 32 seconds before McCreery scored 30 ticks later. TYLER MCCREERY and MIKE MCCREERY notched goals before the game was five minutes old before Rosemont stopped the run with a Navarro Blakes tally. Montclair tallied the final six markers of the stanza with MIKE MCCREERY and TYLER MCCREERY polishing off first-quarter hat tricks.

CHRISTIAN BOYLE opened the scoring in the second before potting his second of the afternoon with 11:13 to go in the frame, stretching the Red Hawk lead to 14-1. MATT DANCSECS also tallied two goals during the second stanza, with JACK NORBERTO, CHRISTIAN DROPP, CONNOR GABILANES, and ETHAN MOUNIER all finding the back of the net.

Montclair State outshot Rosemont 40-10 in the opening 30 minutes and were a perfect 13-for-13 on clears.

Covino and SEBASTIAN GRAZIANO recorded two goals in the third, as Mounier registered his second with 2:04 left to give MSU a 26-2 lead heading into the final frame. The Red Hawks continued to apply pressure, outscoring the Ravens 3-1 in the fourth on goals from Norberto, Dropp, and AIDAN MAXWELL.

JAMOND RANDOLPH played the second half, making nine saves as DAVID METZGER made six in the first half. TYLER MCCREERY finished with five goals and two assists, as MIKE MCCREERY had four goals and two helpers. WILSON SMITH anchored the defense, causing three turnovers and picking up four ground balls in the win.

The Red Hawks return to the field on Wednesday as they host Kean at 7 pm.
