Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State field hockey team hosts No. 20 Vassar Wednesday evening.

The Red Hawks (0-4) fell to Franklin & Marshall 2-0 in their last game Saturday. LAUREN PICKUL made nine saves in the setback while CARLIE VAN TASSEL fired three shots.

SCOUTING VASSAR
The Brewers are 4-1 on the season but coming off a 2-1 setback to then-No. 9 Kean University Saturday. In their four wins, Vassar has scored three goals or more in each contest.

SERIES HISTORY
Vassar holds a 7-4 edge in the all-time series, including three consecutive victories. The Red Hawks' last triumph came on September 20, 2017, in a 3-2 win. They battled back from a 2-0 halftime deficit before Kaitlyn Struss tallied the game-winner in overtime.

LAST MEETING
Montclair State suffered a 3-2 setback to then-No. 16 Vassar on September 15, 2021. Trailing 2-0, CARLIE VAN TASSEL trimmed the deficit to one off a feed from GAB MAISTO. After the Brewers scored to go back up two 1:08 later, LINDSEY BICHER brought Montclair back to within a goal at the 34:40 mark. They were unable to complete the comeback despite outshooting Vassar 12-11.
