Galloway, NJ – The Montclair State volleyball team dropped a straight-set decision to Stockton University in New Jersey Athletic Conference action Tuesday.
The Red Hawks (5-8, 1-3 NJAC) fell 25-21, 25-20, 25-17 to the Ospreys (8-5, 2-1 NJAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montclair State went ahead 15-13 midway through the first set, thanks to a kill from SKYE RAMSEY. Stockton tallied the following three points to regain a slim one-point advantage.
- Five of the following eight points went to Montclair State, but Stockton claimed set one with a game-ending 6-1 spurt.
- Stockton went up 8-5 in the second period, scoring six consecutive points. The hosts broke the set open with a 9-3 spurt midway through to grab an eight-point lead.
- Montclair State battled back, as a CARLY WATERMAN kill made the score 20-17 in favor of the hosts. The Red Hawks could not get any closer than four the rest of the way, as a service error handed set two to Stockton.
- The Ospreys gained four of the five points and used a 5-0 rally to take a 13-8 advantage. Montclair trimmed the deficit to four on an unforced error, but Stockton took the match 3-0 on a kill from Camille De La Torre.
