No. 12/15 Women's Soccer Notches 4-0 Shut Out Over Stockton

Montclair, NJ – The No. 12/15 Montclair State women's soccer team tallied three second-half goals to power past Stockton 4-0 in New Jersey Athletic Conference action Wednesday.
 
The Red Hawks (9-0-0, 2-0-0 NJAC) outshot Stockton (5-5-0, 0-2-0 NJAC) 25-4 over the 90 minutes.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawks threatened early but were unable to push a goal across. AILEEN CAHILL recorded a try in the 18th minute that went wide of the post before PAIGE YOCUM had a high shot denied in the 24th minute.
  • Montclair State broke through for the first goal in the 28th minute. KERRI DRISCOLL made a great pass to Cahill, who fired to the right of the goal and beat the goalkeeper for her fifth goal of the year. Driscoll nearly doubled the lead a minute later but rang a chance off the post.
  • Off a corner, KYLINN KRAEMER headed a ball that hit the crossbar before SAMANTHA GABRIELE's rebound was snared by the keeper.
  • Stockton's Morgan Keil denied Kraemer and ASHLEY DEFRANCESCO off a scrum before the ball was cleared out.
  • Montclair notched a pair of goals in 1:02 to break the game open. TARA LAMBERT fed Driscoll, who played an excellent ball into LAUREN ERNST for her second goal in as many games. In the 78th minute, Cahill connected with KYLIE PRENDERGAST to make it 3-0 Montclair.
  • The Red Hawks capped off the scoring in the 87th minute, with CAIT KERR notching her first career marker, with Prendergast collecting an assist.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • KIMBERLY CAMPBELL led the Red Hawks with five shots, while Cahill added four.
  • Goalkeeper HALEY MARTIN tallied four saves in goal for Montclair State, with Keil saving nine shots for Stockton.
 
UP NEXT
The Red Hawks visit Ramapo College for a New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup for a 1 pm Saturday.
