Union, NJ-  The No. 18 Montclair State University women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 3-0 triumph over Kean University.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 

•  The Red Hawks (12-2-2, 6-1-2 NJAC) peppered the Cougars in the first half, outshooting Kean 19-0. Montclair broke through in the 10th minute, as MEAGAN O'CALLAHAN blasted a shot from distance into the back of the goal.
• Montclair doubled their advantage two minutes later as newcomer SHANNON MULLINS crashed the net. Mullins found the loose ball and buried it, extending the lead to 2-0. 
• Hunting for a third marker, the Red Hawks found it in the 31st minute. NICOLE RICCI fed a pass to AILEEN CAHILL, who buried the pass into the back of the goal.
• The Cougars applied some pressure to Montclair in the second stanza, putting two shots on frame. Goalkeeper HALEY MARTIN made saves in the 72nd and 77th minute to preserve the clean sheet.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 

• GIANNA CURCI led the Red Hawks with six shots, as Mullins, MADELINE LESICA, and O'Callahan had three.
• Martin made two saves for the teams' ninth shutout of the season and the third straight clean sheet.

The Red Hawks, who clinched the No. 3 seed in the NJAC Tournament, will host No. 6 Stockton University on Saturday, with the game scheduled for 1 pm at MSU Soccer Park.
