HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawks (8-10, 0-4 NJAC) fell behind 10-5, including the first six markers of the game. ZOEY HORN slammed down a kill to trim the deficit to 10-8, but an ace from Stockton brought the lead back to five.

  • The Red Hawks raced out to a 9-5 lead in the second period, but the Ospreys netted the following seven points to jump back in front. Montclair didn't back down, using a 5-2 spurt to level the set at 14.
  • After Stockton took a 17-15 edge, SHELLEY EATON capped off a 4-1 run with a kill from Hatcher. Horn pushed Montclair in front 23-22 before the guests brought up set point with two straight points. An attack fended off game point, but the final two favored Stockton to make it 2-0.
  • Stockton went up 14-9 in the final period before three straight unforced errors by Stockton trimmed the gap to 14-12. The Ospreys went up 22-16, and four consecutive points went to Montclair, forcing Stockton into a timeout. After the Red Hawks tallied two additional points, Stockton claimed the match with a kill.

FROM THE COURT
"Proud of our grit tonight not to give up and make runs in all three sets. Unfortunately, a few mistakes in crucial times continue to hurt us. Today was a step in the right direction by playing hard throughout the match." - Head Coach Eddie Stawinski.
