Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University women's basketball team was selected fifth in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.
 
PRESEASON POLL
New Jersey City University claimed the top spot in the preseason rankings and gained four first-place votes, with The College of New Jersey sliding in second with three first-place votes. Rowan was third with two first-place tallies, and Ramapo was fourth and final first-place vote. Behind Montclair was Kean, William Paterson, Stockton (dark-horse), Rutgers-Camden, and Rutgers-Newark.
 
2022-23 SEASON REWIND
NICKIE CARTER became the 22nd student-athlete in program history to record their 1,000th career point in the Red Hawks' second game of the season against Ithaca. The Red Hawks celebrated Alumnae Day on December 10, topping TCNJ 58-56 behind 32 points from Carter. Montclair State notched one of their biggest victories of the season on January 11, downing eventual New Jersey Athletic Conference Champions Rowan 73-67. MEGAN DUFFY registered her first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the 60-52 win over Ramapo.
