Dallas, Pa. – TYLER MCCREERY of the Montclair State men's lacrosse team became the program's all-time leader in points as the Red Hawks took down Misericordia 21-12.
 
McCreery, who entered the day four points away from Keith Van Ness' record of 234 points, finished the afternoon with three goals and two assists, giving him 235 for his career.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Red Hawks (3-3) used a 3-0 spurt in the first quarter to take a 4-2 lead, with ETHAN MOUNIER capping the run off with an unassisted marker. Montclair broke the game open in the second, netting six straight goals to open up an 11-5 lead.
• The Cougars closed to within six, but the Red Hawks countered with four consecutive goals to dash any comeback hopes. McCreery hit the mark with an unassisted goal with 4:35 remaining. Misericordia's goal with 27 seconds left polished off the scoring and established the final margin.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• TYLER MCCREERY and MIKE MCCREERY combined for seven goals and 10 points, with Mike scoring four.
• MATTHEW HOLLAND led the team with five goals on eight shots, as MATT DANCSECS tallied three goals.
• LUCAS NOVACK was a force in the "X" winning 17-of-22 faceoffs and picking up 15 ground balls.
• DAVID METZGER made 15 saves in the goal.

"It was a good win for us. We started a little sloppy but once we settled in we were able to retain control and keep our pressure up. We still have a long way to go but definitely a win we can build on." Head Coach Matt Poskay.
