Galloway, NJ – The No. 10 Montclair State University women's soccer team battled Stockton University to a 0-0 draw Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Ospreys tallied the first on target 3:21 into the match, but Montclair (6-1-1, 1-0-1 NJAC) goalkeeper HALEY MARTIN made the save. The Red Hawks would hold Stockton shot-less over the final 41:39 as the ball stayed primarily in the Stockton.
  • MEAGAN O'CALLAHAN was denied by the Stockton keeper three times in the first half as AILEEN CAHILL had a pair of attempts also stopped. Over the first 45 minutes, Montclair held a commanding 10-1 edge in shots and had all three corners in the first period.
  • Martin made a denial in the 53rd minute, and the Red Hawks could not push forward for much of the second stanza. The team did not record a shot on goal until the 79th minute when MADELINE LESICA's shot was stopped.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Martin made two saves in the clean sheet.
  • Cahill and O'Callahan combined for eight of the teams' 18 shots as Montclair outshot Stockton 18-4.
FROM THE FIELD
"It was a typical NJAC game: competitive, gritty, and combative. I loved our effort, but our execution in the final third wasn't good enough to get the result." Head Coach Pat Naughter.
