Wayne, NJ- Red Hawks outlasted by the Pioneers in OT, 67-60 in NJAC matchup Wednesday night.
How it Happened
- Montclair held steady through the first quarter only falling to William Paterson in the last two minutes 21-14.
- Shooting 50% from the floor in the second quarter, the Red Hawks were able to get within striking distance trailing only by three going into the half.
- AMANDA CASTRO sunk two from behind the arc in the third quarter attributed to four lead changes in the third quarter. The Pioneers led the Red Hawks by three going into the fourth.
- The Red Hawks went on a 9-2 run with five minutes left in the fourth to tie it up 54-54 within the last two minutes of the game. Buckets came from SHANNON HUGHES, TERESA WOLAK, and BRIANNA MONTAJES.
- Montclair held possession with 22 seconds left in the tie game. A foul from William Paterson allowed for Montclair to get a shot off. The shot bounced off the rim allowing for a defensive rebound for the Pioneers. The Pioneers couldn't connect and sent the game into overtime.
- Montclair remained scoreless for the first 3:16 seconds in Overtime, a sole free throw from ISABELLA ORLANDO ended the drought. Orlando came up big, sinking a three with 35 seconds left in OT lessening the Pioneer's lead to four. The Red Hawks came up short falling to the Pioneers 67-60.
