Montclair, NJ. – The Montclair State University women's soccer team (6-4-5, 3-1-1 NJAC) honored their ten seniors/fifth-years for senior night and earned a decisive win when they blanked William Paterson(5-6-4, 1-2-2 NJAC), 4-0 on Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Red Hawks generated a few early chances at a goal in the first 25 minutes of the first half. KYLIE PRENDERGAST put two shots on goal as well as TARA LAMBERT, but all of those attempts were saved.
- It wasn't until late in the first half when Montclair State drew first blood. In the 42nd minute, AILEEN CAHILL squeezed a ball through traffic to NICOLE RICCI right in front of the goalkeeper and she finished the connection for the first goal of the contest.
- Montclair made one more offensive push before the half ended and with just eight seconds remaining, NIKI DANZ shot one right in front of the goalkeeper that was saved, but SHANNON MULLINS collected that shot and found the back of the net to give the Red Hawks a 2-0 lead at half.
- MACKENZIE ALBERT joined in on the scoring in the second half with two goals to eventually give Montclair State University the 4-0 victory. Her first goal came on a nice pass from GIANNA CURCI who put it just perfectly in line for her just at the outer right line of the penalty box for her to slot it into the top left corner of the goal at the 53:31 timestamp. Her second goal came from Lambert who crossed a ball perfectly to Albert from left to right and she once against hit the opposite corner of the net for her first multi-goal game of her Red Hawks career.

- Tonight, the women's soccer program honored their seniors/fifth-years for their dedication to the program and department on and off the field. Those honored tonight were JULIA DELLISANTI, JULIE BAKER, EMMI DENOVELLIS, TARA LAMBERT, NIKI DANZ, NICOLE RICCI, AILEEN CAHILL, JOELLE D'ANGELO, CAMILA MARTINEZ and MACKENZIE MORANO
- Albert notched her sixth and sevenths goals tonight which now leads the team
- The Red Hawks held the Pioneers to 0 shots on the game, the first time they have blanked a team in shots this season.

Montclair State University will hit the road for an all-important NJAC matchup against Rowan on Saturday, October 19. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 5:00pm.
