Montclair, NJ- The Montclair State Women's Swimming and Diving Team was victorious in their home-opener, defeating Drew, 177-95 on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- ROURKE PERALTA matched her strong start from the first meet with another three first-place finishes during this meet. She won the 50 free (24.04), 100 free (53.41) and 200 free (2:00.77).
- JULIE TIEDEMANN notched both long distance events for the Red Hawks when she touched the wall first in the 500 free (5:28.03) and the 1000 free (11:08.72).
- MADI CUNARD and OLIVIA SALMONS kicked off their seasons in diving during today's 1M Dives. Cunard led the way with scores of 154.60 and 249.65. She was followed by Salmons who scored 137.65 and 160.35.
- Montclair also saw wins from ABBY BROCK and SOPHIA SHOPOVICK during the meet. Brock placed first in the 100 breast when she clocked a 1:08.85 and Shopovick placed first in the 200 back when she clocked a 2:15.68. Brock also placed second in the 50 free (26.17) while Shopovick placed third in the 100 back (1:02.45).
- The 200 medley team was the relay victory today for Montclair. The quartet of Shopovick, Brock, MADELINE ROGERS and Peralta touched the wall first with a team time of 1:50.73.

"Another very strong meet for our women. Our times should make for a very close Tri Meet next weekend against two tough PSAC opponents (East Stroudsburg and Kutztown.) On the boards Maddy Cunard was exceptional today". Head Coach Brian McLaughlin.
UP NEXT
Montclair State University takes a trip next week to Pennsylvania for a tri-meet with Division II Kutztown and East Stroudsburg on Saturday, October 26. The meet is scheduled to start at 1:00pm.
