Hoboken, NJ- The Montclair State Swimming and Diving Team traveled to take on Stevens and bested them, 154-103 in their season opener on Saturday afternoon
HOW IT HAPPENED
- ROURKE PERALTA had a strong start to the year in the freestyle events, registering 27 points with three individual wins in the 50 free (24.28), 100 free (52.97), and 200 free (2:01.24).
- JULIA WEINREB, JULIE TIEDEMANN, and ABBY BROCK all notched a pair of individual wins during the meet. Weinreb posted a time of 1:01.76 in the 100 back and a 2:16.68 in the 200 back, both for first-place finishes. Tiedeman did the same thing in her two long distance events. She touched the wall first in the 500 free with a time of 5:31.94 and in the 1000 free with a time of 11:13.57. Brock took first in both the 100 breast (1:09.10) and the 200 breast (2:32.68).
- Montclair's A relay team in the 200 medley relay took first in the event today. The squad of SOPHIA SHOPOVICK, Brock, MADELINE ROGERS, and Peralta clocked a first-place time of 1:51.86.
