Women’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Fifth at the 2026 NJAC Championships

Hampton, VA – The Montclair State University Women's Swimming & Diving program wrapped up the 2026 NJAC Championships with a fifth-place finish of 796 points on Sunday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The final session got started with the 1650 free, where Montclair saw four swimmers finish back-to-back in the top 24. DEVYN FORD led the way in 13th (18:32.10), and was followed by KACIE GADZINSKI in 14th (18:33.07), LILY CONLON in 15th (18:35.55), and AMELIA FANNING in 16th (18:39.57).
  • ABBY PANZARELLA led the 200 back for the Red Hawks with a 15th-place finish of 2:11.88 in the consolation finals. Leticia Laynez nabbed 22nd place in the bonus finals when she clocked a time of 2:14.06.
  • ROURKE PERALTA made her way back to the 100 free championship finals and finished sixth with a time of 53.03. CATTY GEYER swam in the consolation finals and placed 13th (54.23), while MADDY WISHNOW earned 23rd (54.86) in the bonus finals.
  • In the 200 breast, MARIANNE TASSINARI competed in the championship finals, where she notched seventh with a time of 2:24.42. SADIE CRISPELL and PENELOPE CURRAN each competed in the consolation finals, where Crispell placed 14th (2:30.06), and Curran finished 15th (2:31.04). ANA VENLA SAGUILLO LEPPANEN and RACHEL YUSHAN swam in the bonus finals with Saguillo Leppanen placing 19th (2:36.16) and Yushan finishing 22nd (2:37.03).
  • MADELINE ROGERS had the highest placement of the evening for Montclair. She made it to the 200 fly championship finals and was just outside of podium contention with a fourth-place finish of 2:09.10. Geyer saw her second consolation final appearance and took 12th with a time of 2:14.64. SYDNEY MCGANN qualified for the bonus finals and took 21st with a time of 2:22.46.
  • The 400 free relay team of Peralta, Tassinari, Wishnow, and Geyer closed out the 2026 NJAC Championships for the Red Hawks with a fifth-place finish of 3:34.33.
