Stack Powers Women's Lacrosse Past Saint Joseph's-Maine

Montclair, NJ – Junior CHELSEA STACK tallied 10 points as the Montclair State University women's lacrosse team cruised to an 18-8 triumph over Saint Joseph's-Maine on Sunday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • KAELEY SEK netted the game's first two goals before Stack added her first marker to make it 3-0 in the first six minutes. The lead swelled to five before the visitors snapped the run, and Stack completed her hat-trick with 2:24 left in the first.
  • The Monks closed the first with the final two goals before the Red Hawks outscored SJC 6-1 in the second. NORAH MONAGHAN recorded two goals during the spurt as KYRA MORENA added a pair. LEXI ROBINSON punctuated the high-scoring first half with a marker with six ticks left in the period.
  • Stack and CARA MCCARTNEY potted the first two tallies in the third, while Robinson recorded a pair to make it 17-5 after three. The visitors outscored Montclair 3-1 in the fourth but could not get any closer than 10 the rest of the way.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Stack became the first Red Hawk to record 10 points in a game since Tierney Conlon reached the mark on April 14, 2015. The junior recorded a career-best five goals and five assists.
  • DANIELLE DE JESUS is the first Red Hawk since Francesca Verrone in 2017 to record six caused turnovers in a single game. 
  • Goalkeeper JOEY GROTKOPF tallied a season-high 12 saves to earn her second victory.
  • OLIVIA DALLY contributed four ground balls and three caused turnovers, as Monaghan filled the stat sheet with eight draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
