Women's Lacrosse Falls To Drew, 20-8

Montclair, NJ – The Red Hawks collected their first loss of the season Wednesday night to Drew, 20-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Rangers went up 8-0 in the first period until a free-position goal from Montclair's CHELSEA STACK 11 minutes into the period put an end to their run.
  • KAELEY SEK put another ball into the net for the Red Hawks at the end of the first quarter, but Drew scored 18 seconds later putting them up 10-2 going into the second period.
  • LEXI ROBINSON was the lone Red Hawk to score in the second, once off a free position goal and once off a rebounded free position shot.
  • A ground ball by ASHLEY PETROSINE led to a free position goal for Sek in the ninth minute of the third period. And MEGHAN VITALE assisted Robinson for yet another goal for the fifth year. These goals pulled the Red Hawks within 12 of the Rangers.
  • SAMANTHA HANDZO won the draw control to start the fourth period which allowed Stack to score the first goal of the period 40 seconds later. Handzo would then score herself in the 12th minute of the period off a rebounded shot by Stack. Despite the efforts from these two, the Red Hawks couldn't close the gap and fell to Drew 20-8.
