Men's Lacrosse Defeated by #1 Salisbury

Salisbury, MD The Montclair State University men's lacrosse team fell to #1 Salisbury 29-2 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawks (4-9, 0-5 CLC) fell behind early, as the Sea Gulls opened the scoring 90 seconds in following a caused turnover. Salisbury added five more goals to expand the margin to six with 5:26 remaining in the first. Montclair applied offensive pressure, sending in four shot attempts in under two minutes, but the home side added the final marker of the first with 41 seconds left.
  • Montclair opened the second quarter by winning the faceoff and scoring shortly after, as LOUIS AZARA found the back of the net on the resulting possession. Salisbury answered with three goals over the next three minutes and expanded their margin to 14 at the halftime break.
  • ETHAN MOUNIER opened the second half with a man-up goal off a feed from JACK CLEARY. Salisbury answered with two more markers to make the score 17-2 at the 10:43 mark. The Sea Gulls closed the third quarter with eight more goals to expand their margin.
  • After Salisbury struck early in the fourth for a marker, Montclair made a push with shots from WILLIAM BURDGE and Cleary. The home side closed out the contest with three more goals to conclude Coastal Lacrosse Conference play for both sides in the regular season.
