Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Cahill Records 100th Career Point as Women's Soccer Blanks Widener

Chester, PA AILEEN CAHILL recorded her 100th career point as the Montclair State University women's soccer team shutout Widener 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawks (1-0-1) started the game on the front foot as Cahill recorded a shot on goal 15 seconds in. KYLIE PRENDERGAST intercepted a pass on the Widener half of the field and slotted the ball to Cahill along the left side. The forward collected the pass and sent a centering ball to MACKENZIE ALBERT, who ripped a left-footed shot into the bottom right of the net.
  • Five minutes later, Cahill collected a loose ball in front of the net, settled it, and shot it into the lower left corner.
  • Montclair added their third and final marker of the contest in the 62nd minute. EMMI DENOVELLIS played a pass along the far sideline to Cahill, who found a running SHANNON MULLINS down the middle of the field. Mullins surged towards the net after collecting the pass and shot the ball into the low far post.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
  • Cahill surpassed 100 points for her collegiate career in the match, becoming just the fourth Red Hawk in program history to achieve the feat and the first since Emily Beenders in 2019.
  • The forward has tallied a goal contribution in 10 consecutive games dating back to October 11, 2023. Sunday's contest marked her fourth multi-assist game of her career.
  • Albert's goal was the first of her Montclair career, and Mullins collected her third career marker for the Red Hawks.
  • Montclair outshot Widener 17-2 in the game and did not allow a shot on goal for the full 90 minutes.
