Hoboken, NJ – The Montclair State University women's soccer team narrowly fell to Stevens 1-0 on Tuesday night. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Red Hawks (1-3-3) saw an early save from SALANGE BELL, who faced a shot at the top center of the net in the seventh minute. Montclair answered three minutes later with their first attempt on frame, as SHANNON MULLINS put a shot towards the bottom left of goal.
• Stevens opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, as they slotted a penalty kick into the low left corner of the net following a Montclair handball in the box. The Red Hawks answered with five shots over the next seven minutes, including three from KYLIE PRENDERGAST. JULIE BAKER sent a shot towards the top center of goal in the waning moments of the half, but the Ducks went into the break with the advantage.
• Montclair continued its offensive push 15 minutes into the second half, as AILEEN CAHILL registered a shot on frame that had to be saved by the Ducks. Mullins had a chance narrowly miss in the 80th minute as it rang off the woodwork. The visitors took six more shots over the final nine minutes of the contest but could not find the equalizer.
