Women’s Swimming & Diving Victorious Against TCNJ on Senior Day, 180-118

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State Women's Swimming & Diving team (10-2) honored their eight seniors before the meet and were victorious in their final dual meet of the season against TCNJ, 180-118
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Before the meet began, the Red Hawks honored their seniors SARAH BENT, ABBY BROCK, SADIE CRISPELL, SARAH FONDACARO, SOPHIA SHOPOVICK, Julianna Skopp-Cardillo, JULIE TIEDEMANN, and JULIA WEINREB for their contributions to the program in and out of the pool.
  • The Red Hawks were led by MARIANNE TASSINARI, who collected three first-place finishes on the afternoon. She touched the wall first in the 200 free (2:01.44), 200 breast (2:29.98), and 200 IM (2:14.02).
  • ROURKE PERALTA and Tiedemann each collected a pair of individual wins. Peralta notched wins in the 50 free (24.27) and 100 free (54.81) while Tiedemann won the 500 free (5:25.00) and 1000 free (10:57.84).
  • MADELINE ROGERS also found a duo of individual wins on the afternoon when she clocked a 100 fly time of 1:01.70 and a 200 fly time of 2:18.53.
  • Montclair also notched a win in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of Shopovick, Brock, Rogers, and Peralta clocked a 1:51.21 en route to winning the event.
  • In diving, the Red Hawks were led by AUDREY HITCHENS, who placed fifth with a score of 142.35. Following her in sixth was OLIVIA SALMONS who notched a score of 136.55

UP NEXT
  • Montclair State University will have a few weeks to prepare before the four-day NJAC Championships down in Hampton, Virginia. The first day of the conference championship meet will be on Thursday, February 13.
