Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to Rowan in Home Opener, 150-112

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University Women's Swimming & Diving team was defeated by Rowan 150-112 in its 2025-26 home opener on Friday evening at the Panzer Pool

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Red Hawks (0-1) opened the evening with a second place finish in the 200 medley relay, with the group of ABBY PANZARELLA, SADIE CRISPELL, MADELINE ROGERS, and ROURKE PERALTA collecting a time of 1:52.16.
LILY CONLON notched a victory in the 1000 free with a mark of 11:15.84, with MARIANNE TASSINARI collecting second in the 200 free with a time of 2:01.72. Shortly after, TESSA DEVONE (1:02.43) and LETICA LAYNEZ (1:03.14) placed second and third in the 100 back.
In the 200 fly, Rogers tallied a time of 2:17.26 to finish second, with CATTY GEYER placing third at 2:17.48.
Peralta claimed the 50 free at 24.20, with Devone right behind in second with a mark of 25.62. In the 100 free, Peralta continued her run with a victory in the event with a time of 53.70.
In the 200 breast, Tassinari clocked in at 2:31.66 to finish second, with Crispell coming in third at 2:34.63. Rogers (1:00.56) and Geyer (1:02.70) recorded second and third in the 100 fly.
Tassinari notched second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.45, with Laynez coming in third at 2:20.85.
Montclair rounded out the night with a second place finish in the 400 free relay, as the group of Geyer, AMELIA FANNING, MADDY WISHNOW, and Peralta amassed a time of 3:44.27.

"We had several events that went our way but unfortunately had a couple of events where Rowan went 1-2 on us. LILY CONLON had an incredibly gutsy win in holding off Rowan in the 1000 free. She is going to have a bright future here." - Head Coach Brian McLaughlin

UP NEXT

The Red Hawks will host Kutztown and East Stroudsburg on Saturday, October 25, with the meet scheduled for 1:00 PM at the Panzer Pool.
