Women’s Swimming & Diving Takes Care of Drew, 118-55

Madison, NJ – The Montclair State University Women's Swimming & Diving team (4-2) went on the road Friday afternoon and took care of business with a 118-55 win at Drew (0-3).
How It Happened
  • It was a well-rounded afternoon with seven different individuals taking first-place finishes in the meet.
  • In the sprint freestyle, ROURKE PERALTA won with a time of 24.48, CATTY GEYER secured a win in the 100 free with a time of 55.68, and TESSA DEVONE was victorious in the 200 free with a time of 2:04.48. Devone also placed second in the 100 back (1:02.26)
  • In the 100 fly, MADELINE ROGERS led the pack with a time of 1:01.12. In the 100 breast, ANA VENLA SAGUILLO LEPPANEN outswam the competition with a time of 1:12.17.
  • MARIANNE TASSINARI notched another win on the season when she touched the wall first in the 400 IM, clocking a time of 4:41.17.
  • AMELIA FANNING was the final first-place winner with her time of 11:22.87 in the 1000 free. She also finished second in the 100 free with a time of 57.96.
  • MADDY WISHNOW took two second-place finishes in the meet in the 100 fly (1:02.45) and the 200 free (2:05.70).
  • PENELOPE CURRAN and Leticia Laynez each saw a second-place finish. Curran touched second in the 100 breast (1:12.31), and Laynez finished second in the 400 IM (5:01.17).
  • ABBY PANZARELLA wrapped up individual top-three placements when she finished third in the 100 back with a time of 1:02.82.
  • In the 200 medley relay, the quartet of Devone, SADIE CRISPELL, Rogers, and Peralta led the way with a time of 1:54.33. They were followed by the team of Panzarella, RACHEL YUSHAN, Geyer, and Wishnow, who placed second with a time of 1:56.29.
