Morales Headlines Three All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Honorees for Men’s Basketball

White Plains, NY- Announced on Tuesday afternoon by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (METS), the Montclair State University Men's Basketball team saw three honorees named to the All-MET team. Junior forward JACOB MORALES headlines the group with a First Team selection.

Joining Morales are senior guard MIKE JACKSON, named to the Second Team, and graduate guard KIERAN FLANAGAN, who received Honorable Mention.

Morales adds this honor to an impressive list of accolades, including First Team All-NJAC, NABC Second Team All-Region 4, and D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region 4, all earned earlier this year. He started all 29 games for the Red Hawks, averaging 19.1 points per game. Morales was one of the nation's most efficient long-range shooters, leading all of Division III with 108 made three-pointers. His 3.72 threes per game ranked third nationally, and his 45.9% shooting from beyond the arc was eighth-best in the country. Beyond scoring, Morales led the team in total rebounds (144), rebounds per game (5.0), and steals (55). He was a two-time D3hoops.com Team of the Week honoree and earned NJAC Player of the Week recognition as well.

Jackson, earning his second straight All-MET Second Team nod, continued to etch his name into Montclair's history books. The program's all-time leader in three-pointers and fourth-leading scorer, Jackson averaged 16.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He also notched 47 steals, ranking second in the NJAC, along with 23 assists and five blocks. His standout game came in the NJAC opener on November 26, when he scored a season-high 30 points on 11-of-16 shooting. Jackson also earned NJAC Player of the Week honors this season and was named to the All-NJAC Second Team.

Flanagan earned his first All-MET recognition in his final season as a Red Hawk. The program's all-time leader in games played and started, Flanagan was a consistent presence, starting all 29 games this season. He averaged 8.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. His top performance came in a late-season road win over Kean, where he posted 18 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists in a 97–78 victory. Flanagan adds this Honorable Mention to his resume after receiving NJAC Honorable Mention last season.

Montclair State capped off one of the most successful seasons in program history with a 22–7 overall record and a 14–4 mark in NJAC play. The Red Hawks captured their first NJAC title since 2003 and secured their first-ever home NCAA playoff victory, defeating Utica 79–57 in the first round.
