Heather Gearity returned to action after a one-month layoff and showed no signs of rust from the hiatus as Montclair State took part in the NYC Gotham Cup at The Armory on January 13. Gearity posted an ECAC qualifying time while finishing 10th in the 400 meters in a field of Division I, II and III competitors. Her time (59.35) is currently seventh in the nation. She then ran a personal best in the 60 hurdles registering a time of 9.77 seconds.
