Named the NJAC Player of the Week, Sire got her season off to a great start as the No. 23 Red Hawks went 2-1. Sire averaged 23.7 points and 8.3 while shooting 50.9 percent from the floor, including 54.5 from behind the arc. She also added four steals, two assists and went 7-of-8 (.875) at the foul line. Sire opened the year with a career-high 30 points along with 11 rebounds as MSU began the 2017-18 campaign with a 71-61 win over Farmingdale State. Sire had 19 points in the first half and registered her 21^st career double-double performance. Two days later Sire pumped in 27 points along with six rebounds in a 68-62 win over host Cortland in the Cortica Classic. She completed the opening weekend with 14 points and eight rebounds in a 66-56 loss to Ithaca. Sire currently leads the NJAC in scoring and is fifth in rebounding while ranking second in free-throw and three-point field goal percentage.
