Nielsen was named Diver of the Meet as Montclair State placed fourth at the Metropolitan Championships over the weekend. Nielsen finished second in the 1-meter event, breaking her own school record with a score of 460.60 in the preliminaries. She posted a score of 441.65 in the finals. Nielsen, who also claimed NJAC Diver of the Week honors, then won the 3-meter event with another school record breaking the longest-standing record at MSU. She broke 1983 record for 11 dives in the prelims posting a mark of 432.65 and then raised that to 435.70 in the finals. Nielsen hit both qualifying marks for the NCAA Regionals which will be held March 2-3 in Ithaca, NY.
