Negra won the matchup against 2017 NCAA Division III national champion Mary Kate Duncan of Moravian at the Coach P Invitational. Negra unleashed a throw of 45.94 meters (150-feet, 9-inches) breaking Duncan's meet record of 45.42 meters. The two-time All-American inched closer toward the school record of 46.63 set by Jean Wohlgemuth in 1983 and maintained her No. 1 spot on the Division III list in the event.
