Melissa Tobie, who is named MSU Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, helped the Red Hawks to three wins over the Holiday break averaging 16.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 blocks per contest. She scored 12 points and had eight rebounds and three blocks as Montclair downed Forsbturg State on December 19. Tobie then had 16 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in a 74-72 victory against Widener in the Land of Magic Classic on December 29. One day later, she notched her fifth 20-point game of her freshman season with 22 markers, six rebounds, and a career-high seven assists in a 70-55 victory over Hamilton. She shot 14-of-27 (52 percent) from the floor and connected on 20-of-24 attempts (.833) at the foul line as MSU ran its winning streak to six games while upping its record to 8-4. Tobie, who was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season, currently ranks fourth in the NJAC in scoring with an average of 17.0 points per game.
