Schaefer was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after helping the 10th-ranked Red Hawks to a 2-0 week, including a 5-1 win at No. 3 TCNJ. Schaefer scored early in the second half helping Montclair to a 3-0 lead en route to a 3-2 win over Stevens on the road. She then had an outstanding game netting a hat trick as MSU ran through previously unbeaten, defending national champion Lions. Schaefer scored the first two goals of the game as MSU jumped out to a 4-0 advantage and then capped off the scoring in the 5-1 victory that put MSU into first place in the NJAC. The win was just the seventh win for MSU in 70 all-time meetings versus the Lions and the first since 2005. Montclair also snapped the Lions' 24-game unbeaten streak dating back to last season. Schaefer currently ranks second in the NJAC in scoring with 23 points and is third in goals scored (10).
