Smith was named the NJAC Swimmer of the Week honors after helping Montclair State claim first place as a team in Kutztown University’s Golden Bear Invitational. Individually, he posted first place finishes in the 500 freestyle (4:56.05), the 1,650 freestyle (17:57.61) and the 200 freestyle (1:47.08). He also competed as a member of the Red Hawks’ first place 400 medley (3:49.43), 800 freestyle (7:34.51) and 400 freestyle (3:15.59) relays. In total, Smith accounted for 144 of Montclair State’s 626 points accumulated during the two-day meet.
