Claremont, CA -- Senior shortstop Bria Ellerson (Bayonne, NJ/Hudson Catholic) homered and drove in three runs as Montclair State, ranked fourth in Division III, rallied for a 7-6 victory over Claremont-Mudd Scripps on Tuesday afternoon.

CHRIS BARAN (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) drove in a pair of runs for the Red Hawks (4-1), who rallied from a 5-4 deficit with four runs in the seventh inning.
Montclair jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning as Ellerson belted his first homer of the season, a two-run shot to extend his hitting streak to 19 games. After Baran reached on an error,
SHAWN DYCKMAN (Spotswood,NJ/Spotswood) collected and RBI double.
But Claremont would chip away at the lead with a pair of runs in the second and a run in the third before scoring twice in the sixth. Keith Mendes delivered the go-ahead run with an RBI single.
The Red Hawks then battle back with four runs in the seventh,
JOE GIACOMIAZZIO (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) tied the game with an RBI single.Ellerson put MSU back in front with an RBI single and Baran capped off the rally with a two-run double for a 7-5 advantage.
Claremont's Chad Sakumoto homered to lead off the ninth, cutting the lead to one,but reliever
JOSH PINE (Trenton, NJ/Steinert) got the final three outs to preserve the win.
Pine (1-0) picked up the win as he pitched the final four innings allowing three hits and one run. He struck out two and walked four.
