Abilene, TX - Junior PJ Baccarella (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) plated four runs, including a two run homerun, as the Red Hawks rallied from a 6-0 deficit to defeat the Indians of McMurry University 9-6 Monday afternoon.

Baccarella was 2-4 on the afternoon while designated hitter JON MARZELLA (Cedar Knolls, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) was 2-3 for Montclair State (2-2).

The Indians jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the first two innings, aided by three MSU errors.

The Red Hawks responded in the fifth inning scoring five runs to pull within one. Baccarella started off the scoring with a two run homerun. ETHAN BOYD (Perth Amboy, NJ/Perth Amboy) added one with an RBI double and DANNY RODRIGUEZ (Monmouth, NJ/South Brunswick) followed with an RBI triple. BRIAN SHEEKEY (Palm Coast, FL/Father Lopez) rounded out the scoring with his own RBI single.

Baccarella then put the game out of reach in the top of the seventh as he singled home two for the 9-6 advantage.

Reliever ALAN SANDBERG (Sussex, NJ/High Point Regional) picked up the win. Sandberg tossed 2 1/3 innings of hitless, shutout ball, while fanning two.
