JEFF GOGAL (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) tossed his third complete game of the season to help the Red Hawks defeat Johns Hopkins, ranked #6 in Division III, 6-2 Tuesday night at Yogi Berra Stadium.

MIKE HALLIGAN (Pompton Plains, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) was 2-for-2 with three RBI for Montclair State (16-16-1), who reached the .500 mark for just the second time this season.
The Red Hawks jumped on the board early plating three runs on three hits in their half of the first inning. Halligan delivered the key hit, driving in two. MSU then tacked on three runs in the third and fourth innings. Halligan doubled home his third run of the game while
P.J. BACCARELLA (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) drove in two with a double of his own.
Johns Hopkins recorded their two runs of the game in the seventh, taking advantage of two Montclair miscues. Eberle's RBI single drove in Gary Rosenberg (West Bloomfield, MI/West Bloomfield) who reached on a single. The Blue Jays only other hit of the evening was by shortstop Corey Gleason (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) who doubled in the third.
Gogal equaled his career high for victories in a season as he improved to 7-1. He previously recorded 7-1 records in both his freshman and sophomore campaigns. In tonight's outing, Gogal struck out seven, walked two and did not allow an earned run as he lowered his ERA to 1.58.
Offensively for MSU, Baccarella was 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI while teammate
JAY COOK (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) was 2-for-2 with a triple.
