Montclair, NJ (12/10/05) – Senior
ADRIENNE RICHARDI won a pair of events on the women's side while
RICKY MILLER and
MOHAMED ABDELAAL (right) were a triple winners for the men as the Montclair State swimming and diving teams swept a dual meet from College Misericordia at the Panzer Pool on Saturday. The MSU women posted a 112-77 win to improve to 4-3 on the season while the men won for the fifth time in seven meets with a 96-63 victory.
Richardi won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 12:36:04 before coming back to take first place in the 500 freestyle (5:47.20). Katilin Muchler won the 200 freestyle (2:05.56) while
KRISTINE BATES had a win in the 50 free, posting a time of 26.36.
KIM CORREDOR finished first in the 200 fly for the Red Hawks (2:22.72) and
LINDSEY NEWMAN was victorious in the 200 backstroke (2:21.18).
Cara Devine won a pair of individual events for the Cougars. Devine captured the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:23.42 before coming abck to take the 200 breaststroke (2:40.85). She then helped the 400 medley relay team in victory with a time of 4:20.87. Devine was joined on the quartet by Elisa Kennedy , Sarah Monell , and Mary Otlowski . Monell also won the 100 freestyle, posting a time of 57.34.
On the men's side, Miller 200 freestyle and 200 fly with times of 1:56.40 and 2:11.85, respectively. He then swam the third leg on the Red Hawks' first-place 400 medley relay team. Miller was joined on that squad by
JOHN ADAMS, Drew Decagna and Abdelaal, who picked up wins in the 50 freestyle (23.84) and 100 freestyle (52:40).
MATT GUIDI captured the 200 backstroke (2:05.15) and
RYAN GORSKY won the 1000 freestyle for the Red Hawks with a time of 10:51.42.
Peter Yelacic was a triple-winner for Misericordia. Yelacic won the 200 individual medley (2:06.81) and 500 freestyle (5:11.70) before helping the 400 freestyle relay team to a first-place finish (3:35.76). Yelacic was joined in the quartet by Ryan Epler, Matt Hill and Ryan Weaver .
Montclair State returns to action on Tuesday, December 13 as they host the Mariners of Kings Point at the Panzer Pool ( 6:00 pm ).
