St. Petersburg, FL - The Montclair State University baseball team suffered its first setback of an eight-game Florida swing with today's 10-6 loss to Augustana (IL) College in St. Petersburg, FL.
The Red Hawks fall to 1-3 on the year and 1-1 in Florida, while the Vikings, who extended a 6-5 lead byscoring four runs in the eighth inning, improve to 9-1 overall.
Junior third baseman
DANNY RODRIGUEZ went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for MSU, which got triples from junior centerfielder
MIKE HALLIGAN and
MATT BENEDETTI among its 10 hits. Freshman
MICHAEL NUNES came off the bench to deliver a two-run single as well.
JUSTIN LORENTZEN took the loss for Montclair. Lorentzen allowed eight hits and six runs in four innings. He struck out four and walked two.
MSU returns to action on Monday against Ripon (WI) College in Clearwater, FL.
