Union, NJ – The Montclair State baseball team suffered its fourth straight loss on Friday as the Red Hawks were beaten by No. 17 Kean University, 6-3 at Jim Hynes Stadium.
Senior centerfielder 
ETHAN BOYD had three hits and two RBI for the Red Hawks (8-13, 2-6 NJAC).
Freshman 
ED KLOEPPING gave Montclair State a 1-0 lead in the fourth with an RBI double scoring Boyd but the Cougars (22-5, 5-2 NJAC) took back the lead with a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth for a 3-1 advantage.
Boyd would come through again in the sixth with a two-run single, knotting the contest at 3-3. However, Kean answered again scoring three times for a 6-3 lead.
Righthander Dan Zeffiro went the distance as he remained unbeaten on the year at 6-0. Zeffiro scattered 12 hits, struck out six and walked three. Freshman righthander 
TIM STRINGER took the loss for MSU, which got two hits apiece from 
MICHAEL NUNES, 
DANNY RODRIGUEZ and 
TOMMY WARTH.
Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, April 16 with more NJAC action. The Red Hawks will be in Pomona, NJ to face Richard Stockton beginning at Noon.
