JOHN ADAMS (Wharton, NJ / Pope John XXIII) and senior
RICKY MILLER (Seaside Park, NJ / Monsignor Donovan) each won individual events on the men's side while the women's 200 freestyle relay team took first place as the Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to Division I Seton Hall University at the Panzer Pool on Tuesday evening.
The Pirates posted a 131-97 victory on the men's side while the Seton Hall women were victorious, 138-79. The loss snapped a three-meet win streak for the MSU men (3-2) while the Red Hawk women fell to 2-4 on the year.
Adams was victorious in the 50 freestyle as he posted a time of 22.90. Meanwhile Miller took first in the 100 freestyle clocking in a 58.29.
JON KURTZ ( Stockholm, NJ / Vernon Township) won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.40. Kurtz later teamed with Miller, Adams and
BLAISE LACCA ( Sewell, NJ / Washington Township) to capture the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:36.62.
For the Montclair State women, the quartet of
KRISTINE BATES ( Clark, NJ Arthur L. Johnson),
RAQUEL ERWIN ( Ridgewood, NJ / Ridgewood),
KAITLIN MUCHLER ( Vineland, NJ / Vineland) and
BRITTANY COLE ( Linden, NJ / Linden) posted a time of 1:36.62.
LAURA FLYNN ( Andover, NJ / Lenape Valley) was first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:14.42 and
CREENA SPRAGUE ( Barnegat, NJ / Southern Regional) posted a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:59.75).
The Red Hawks have a quick turnaround as they are back in action on Thursday, December 6. MSU travels to Division II Adelphi for a 5:00 pm meet with the Panthers.
