Montclair, NJ – Senior ERIN SULLIVAN and sophomore ASHLEY KOESTER were named to the First Team leading six Montclair State players on the 2016 NJAC All-Conference Team announced on Wednesday.

Senior JENNIE HORNSTRA, juniors TYLER MADISON and DANIELLA GRECO and freshman EMILY BEENDERS were all chosen to the Second Team. The six players played an integral part in helping MSU to a 15-3-1 record this season, including a 7-2 mark in the NJAC. MSU also advanced to the NJAC Tournament semifinals.

Sullivan earns her second First-Team accolade after anchoring Montclair State's defense which has allowed just 11 goals through 19 games. MSU currently ranks third in the NJAC in goals allowed and goals against average (0.57). The senior also contributed on the offensive end with two goals and four assists. Her two goals both came on penalty kicks against Stockton and New Jersey City respectively and he also had assists against Rowan and William Paterson during the regular season.

Koester, an NJAC Defensive Player of the Week selection, controlled the midfield for MSU this season. Named the MVP of the Mount St. Mary Tournament, the sophomore scored five goals and added four assists for 14 points. Koester scored the only goal Montclair State needed in a 3-0 win over Ramapo and scored once as the Red Hawks downed Stockton 5-1 on October 1.

Hornstra is one of three MSU players to score double-digit goals this season as she found the back of the net 10 times, including a hat trick against John Jay last Monday. The NJAC Offensive Player of the Week, scored 10 times and added two assists during the regular season. She is currently eighth on the all-time MSU career list for goals and points with 33 and 76, respectively. Hornstra currently ranks ninth in the league in points scored (22) and seventh in goals (10).

Madison recorded seven goals on the season which is currently fourth on the team. The now two-time All-NJAC pick, scored once at Ramapo and added another in the win over Stockton.

Greco, who earns her first All-NJAC honor, was a solid defender for the Red Hawks and scored three times in addition to assisting on two other goals. Greco scored twice when MSU closed out the regular-season with a 6-1 win at New Jersey City.
